SOL I found Sol online in a shelter, facing euthanasia, due to a mass on his underside. All the notes about him were good: very friendly, allows all handling, wagging tail. He came in as a stray and was not claimed. Once he had the backing of Barb’s Dog Rescue, I was able to bring him into my home and he had mass removal surgery. In the short time Sol has been with me, he has not met a single person that he doesn’t like. He wags his tail and wants attention from everyone. He’s gentle and walks well and is a great patient when going to the vet. He is housebroken and if not let out when he has to potty, he will make his famous sound: not a bark, not a whine, but his own unique sound. He doesn’t get into anything and sleeps much of the time. He loves a comfy bed, but more than that, he loves the couch. He climbed up on ours the first day. He did well meeting our young female lab mix. He was tolerant of her face sniffing and play pounced with her, but he doesn’t run, so playing chase was not happening. 😊 He sees our smaller dogs through a flimsy gate and wags his tail, sniffs their muzzle, then moves along on his way. He's an all around great companion dog and would do well in a variety of living arrangements, including an apartment, but probably not upstairs for much longer. There are signs of some arthritis discomfort, but it doesn’t seem too bad at this time.
